A highly concentrated and bright globular cluster composed of faint stars with an unresolved halo.   Visible as a tiny patch of light in binoculars.   Higher magnification begins to reveal the core's granular structure but no individual stars.   This cluster is close to the center of our galaxy, and is partially dimmed and obscured by interstellar dust.
