M84 and M86 are two of the brightest galaxies in the rich region of the Virgo Cluster,
separated by only 20'.
Both galaxies can be seen in a telescope as hazy patches brightening towards their centers.
M84 is a lenticular galaxy, which is a cross between a spiral and an elliptical.
When observed with a radio telescope, M84 shows jets emerging from its nucleus.
The nucleus may be a 300 million solar mass black hole.
