Description:
One of nearly two dozen globular clusters in Ophiuchus that are visible with a small telescope.   With binoculars the similar globulars M12 and M10 can be seen in the same field of view, M12 being slightly larger but fainter.   In a small telescope, many resolvable stars can be seen throughout M12.   This cluster is slightly elongated in shape.
