M107 is a nice globular cluster surrounded by four field stars,
the brightest of which is 11th magnitude.
M107's faint glow can be observed in binoculars.
Telescopically the nucleus stands out along with a poorly defined outer halo.
The cluster is partially obscured by dust.
This globular isn't one of the most aesthetically pleasing clusters
but careful study will reward the observer.
M107 was probably the last Messier object to be discovered,
in April 1782 by Messier's colleague, Pierre Mechain.
