M89 and M90 are a pair of galaxies in the Virgo Cluster separated by a mere 40'.
Both can be seen in the same low magnification field of view in a telescope.
M90 is a spiral galaxy, which materializes in a telescope as an elongated oval glow.
M90 is an older spiral which may be evolving into a lenticular galaxy,
as no star formation appears to be taking place in the spiral arms.
It is moving through space very rapidly (1500 km/s) and
may have escaped the gravitational hold of the Virgo Cluster.
