Description:
M56 is a small irregularly round globular cluster with some stars resolvable towards the center, set against the faint glow of the Milky Way.   Its location halfway between the bright stars Albireo and Gamma Lyrae makes it an easy object to locate.   Its core is quite sparse.   Visible in binoculars as a fuzzy star, M56 remains rather uninteresting in small telescopes.
