Description:
An easy naked eye cluster under dark skies, M34 is the apparent size of the full moon.   It is best seen through binoculars or under low power in telescopes.   The cluster contains about 60 members including several double stars.   A bright optical double star lies at the cluster's center.   M34 is moving in the same direction through space as the Pleiades and a handful of other open clusters.
