Description:
A fairly bright and large globular cluster with a small compressed core surrounded by a larger fuzzy halo.   Of particular interest are the two rows of stars that extend from the halo forming what appear to be antennae.   A good object for small telescopes.   M30 is disliked by amateur astronomers because it is often the toughest object to find during a "Messier Marathon", rising just at dawn in March from mid-northern latitudes.   M30 contains more 'blue stragglers' than any other globular cluster.   Blue stragglers are hot blue stars which are much younger than the globular cluster.   They are likely formed by gravitational interactions between the members of a double star system.
