An often overlooked globular cluster due to its proximity to the larger globular M22.
In binoculars, M28, M22 and the 3rd magnitude star Kaus Borealis
form a nice-looking triangle in the sky.
M28 itself is a bright globular cluster showing an extremely condensed center surrounded
by a diffuse outer halo where some brighter members can be resolved.
M28 contains a "millisecond pulsar", a neutron star which rotates several hundred times per second.
